Curator Statement

Look at Me Living is an homage to the vibrant and imaginative souls who contribute to Atlanta's cultural landscape. Spanning many mediums, the featured artists delve into introspection, offering intimate portrayals of themselves, their loved ones, and community members. Their work mirrors the human experience, capturing moments of beauty, joy, and pain in daily life.

Hailing from various corners of the world, the ten artists showcased in this exhibition have chosen Atlanta as their home and creative hub. Reflecting the city's mosaic of cultures and perspectives, they embody a rich tapestry of diversity encompassing different races, sexual orientations, marital statuses, ages, and educational backgrounds. From native Atlantans to transplants from across the nation and beyond, their collective presence underscores the city's welcoming embrace of artistic talent from all walks of life.

In Look at Me Living, we celebrate not only the artistic prowess of these individuals but also the array of stories and experiences that converge to shape Atlanta's thriving art community. Through their lens, they invite viewers: "Look at me, look at my life, and find our commonalities."
